Lovelace claims German glory
Jamie Spencer’s visit to Germany paid off today as he steered Lovelace to victory in the Group Two Darley Oettingen-Rennen at Baden-Baden.
Trained by Mark Johnston, Lovelace won a decent handicap at Sandown in July before flying home for second on his most recent start in the Bunbury Cup.
He took the mile event by a length and three-quarters from Andreas Wohler’s Peace Royale while Robbie Osborne’s Irish representative King Jock could only finish seventh of the eight starters.
