Stretch aiming to bounce back

Jim Gorman believes conditions should be ideal for Three Way Stretch in the Go And Go Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

The juvenile was beaten just a length and a half by subsequent Group One winner Mastercraftsman on his debut and confirmed the promise of that effort when scoring readily on his next outing.

Gorman was disappointed with his recent third at Cork, but believes the fast ground that day was to blame for his below-par performance.

“He is a decent horse but had an unfortunate incident last week where he didn’t go in the stalls,” Gorman told At The Races.

“He has gone in perfect every day this week though, so he should be fine on Sunday.

“I was very disappointed with him at Cork, it was probably the worst run of his career, but his two previous efforts were much better.

“The ground was very fast that day and he got very jarred up.

“It will definitely be soft at the Curragh on Sunday though, which should suit him much better.”

Dual winner Like Magic takes his chance for Pat Martin, while Tom Mullins is represented by Cristal Island.

Jim Bolger saddles newcomers Maoineach and Zero Point Seven, while the field is completed by Kamado, Gluteus Maximus and Silver Shoon.
