Hexham given go-ahead

This evening’s fixture at Hexham goes ahead after the course passed an early-morning inspection.

Officials called the official check on Thursday, with parts of the racing surface waterlogged at that stage following a wet spell.

However, following a period of kinder weather, clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell was able to give the meeting the go-ahead.

Fenwicke-Clennell said: “Racing is on at Hexham today but the ground is still heavy.”
