Wolverhampton abandoned due to fog

This evening’s meeting at Wolverhampton has been abandoned due to fog.

Although the delayed six-race card was initially given the go-ahead, worsening conditions left the situation untenable.

Clerk of the course Fergus Cameron was able to give a positive bulletin after two earlier inspections but his hand was forced after the second race of the night.

He said: “The fog grew worse when the runners went down for the second race and was really bad by the end of it.”
