Kiln on course for Navan

Sweet Kiln is more than likely to contest Sunday’s Philips Electronics Lismullen Hurdle at Navan – but trainer Michael Bowe expects her to improve for the outing.

Another game front-runner in the mould of the Bowe family’s other stars Limestone Lad and Solerina, the eight-year-old has plenty of ability and has won three times at Sunday’s course to date.

The current fast ground is a concern, but Bowe said: “We are strongly considering the race and it is quite likely as she really needs a run and I am sick of pulling her out.

“She will run as long as the ground is safe. It will not be ideal, but it will probably take one or two runs for her to reach her best.

“There are not many races for her, as we are looking at the staying hurdle route and if she comes out of this race well, we will maybe go for the Hatton’s Grace (Fairyhouse, December 2).”
