Haydock aim for Art
Dutch Art is likely to bid for Group One sprint glory in next month’s Betfred Sprint Cup providing the going is suitable.
The July Cup runner-up again had to settle for second spot in the Prix Maurice de Gheest on Sunday at Deauville, where underfoot conditions were far from ideal.
“I’m afraid to say that once again we had ground not to his liking,” said trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam.
“He has raced a few times on it and I don’t think he is fully letting himself down on it.
“It is not an excuse, just life. But he has finished in the first four on each of his four starts at Group One level this season and we will be back.
“He won’t run again now until there is cut in the ground, which there usually is at Haydock for the Sprint Cup. That is where we’d hope to go next with him,” he told www.peterchapplehyam.com.
Dutch Art is 7-1 with the sponsors for the Group One feature over six furlongs at the Merseyside track on September 8.
