Carlisle abandoned

Thursday’s meeting at Carlisle has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell inspected the course at 8am but found it was still unraceable after the recent wet spell.

He said: “We have abandoned due to waterlogging. It hasn’t dried up and it isn’t going to dry up by tomorrow.

“We had maybe half a millimetre overnight but when it continues to rain everyday, that causes the problems.”
