Southwell gets go-ahead
Today’s all-weather action at Southwell has been given the go-ahead after the track passed a second inspection at 12.30pm.
The fixture had been in doubt after the River Greet burst its banks, flooding parts of the course, earlier today.
After an inconclusive inspection at 11.30am, clerk of the course David Williams looked again an hour later with a group of trainers and jockeys, who declared themselves satisfied with conditions.
“We’ve looked at the track with a group of three jockeys and three trainers and they are more than happy,” he said.
“The track is improving all the time now so we should be fine and there should be no delays. It should all go ahead as scheduled.”
