Warwick abandoned

Saturday afternoon’s National Hunt fixture at Warwick has been abandoned due to snow.

Officials had been hoping forecast rains would arrive and conditions would improve sufficiently to stage the scheduled fixture.

However, with snow still lingering on parts of the course, they were left with no choice but to abandon ahead of a planned 7.30am inspection.

“I’m afraid we’ve been forced to abandon,” said clerk of the course Fiona Needham.

“We still have snow down the hill and in the back straight so unfortunately we’ve had to call it off.”
