Bumper jackpot for RaceO

Online pool betting company RaceO will be offering a £1m (€1.5m) jackpot on British racing this Saturday.

The concept, which is designed to rival both the Scoop6 and the National Lottery, costs £2 (€3) and involves picking a horse, or a number, in eight races from different tracks on the afternoon.

In order to make things easier, there are only eight choices per race, with the seven top-ranked horses according to Timeform running as individuals, while all the rest of the field are grouped into one pick.

RaceO managing director Steve Soden said: “We hope to be hitting the million pound figure quite often but this will be a big weekend for us.

“People can either study the form or play it in a lottery style, but we think it will be more exciting than the lottery, as you are actually watching racing rather than balls being produced from a machine.”
