Nick Gifford has withdrawn Killaghy Castle from this afternoon’s Stan James Wayward Lad Novices’ Chase at Kempton following Straw Bear’s disappointing showing in the Christmas Hurdle yesterday.

The six-year-old failed to eat his feed last night and with stable star Straw Bear running below par, Gifford thinks his horses may just be off colour.
