Carlisle gets green light
Racing is set to go ahead as planned at Carlisle this afternoon after the track passed a 7am inspection.
The course was hit with 11 millimetres of rain on Friday, and despite further showers having arrived since, officials feel conditions are acceptable to race.
"We're giving it a go - that's what we're going to do," said clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell.
"No further inspections are planned at the moment but conditions are heavy and it's very wet," he added.
Racing kicks off at the Cumbrian venue with the News & Star "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle at 12.40pm.
