Chepstow call late inspection

Tonight’s meeting at Chepstow is in doubt after torrential rain left parts of the track waterlogged.

Clerk of the course Tim Long has called a 4.30pm inspection following storms which have seen 35 millimetres of rain fall at the track.

He explained: “We had an awful downpour from about 2.50pm to 3.30 and we had about 35 millimetres in that time.

“There are areas of water on the track and although things are improving rapidly, we will have to make a decision.”
