Miles on target

Robert Miles opened his account for the new Flat season with success on Shaunas Vision in the Furlongs & Fairways Apprentice Handicap at Lingfield.

The 12-furlong event marked the start of the 2006 campaign and Miles felt victory was never in doubt as he registered a cheeky half-length victory over Brockhole.

Dean Ivory’s charge was always prominent with Miles moving to the front two furlongs out before easing down towards the finish.

He said: “I thought I was far enough in front at the time. I had a 21-day ban last season for doing it so I was aware of what I was up to.”
