Brian Harding faces a spell on the sidelines after fracturing his collarbone when falling from Granit D’Estruval at Catterick on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old parted company with Ferdy Murphy’s charge at the 10th fence in the Weatherbys Bank North Yorkshire Grand National and was taken for x-rays at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

“There’s a fracture in my collarbone but it’s not very bad,” said Harding.

“It’s pretty clean so I wouldn’t think it will be that long and I’ll see someone next week to find out what the situation is.

“It’s hard to know how long I’ll be out for. I’ve done collarbones before and this doesn’t feel the worst – a couple of weeks maybe, we’ll see. I’ll have to hope for the best.”
