Arcalis heads Haydock entries
Arcalis, winner of the Pertemps “Fighting Fifth” Hurdle in November, is one of nine entries in the Commhoist Logistics Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock on Saturday.
However, Howard Johnson’s Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner may not take his chance due to the prevailing heavy ground at the Merseyside track.
The race was reopened until 9.15am this morning and attracted one more runner in the Robert Gray-trained Overstrand, who was fourth in the Lanzarote Hurdle at Carlisle on Saturday.
Other possibles include the John Queally-trained Al Eile, who holds entries in the Champion Hurdle and the Ladbrokes World Hurdle, and Nicky Richards’ Faasel.
Royal Shakespeare could also turn out in his quest for more Order of Merit points, while Castleford Chase winner Mister McGoldrick will look to go one better than when he finished runner-up to Inglis Drever last year.
Milligan, Leo’s Luckyman and Bob Justice complete the line-up.
