Carlisle good to go
This afternoon’s six-race card featuring the totesport Lanzarote Hurdle at Carlisle will take place as planned after overnight rain failed to materialise.
Officials at the Cumbrian venue had called a 7.30am precautionary inspection due to the forecast of rain, but only one millimetre fell through the night.
Clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell said: “Everything is fine, it is just drizzling at the moment and that will clear out. We had various forecasts and I am quite thankful that we didn’t get much rain.”
The going at Carlisle is soft, heavy in places.
