Carlisle in jeopardy

Carlisle’s meeting on Sunday is in doubt after a further millimetre of overnight rainfall at the Cumbria venue.

An inspection has been called for 2pm, with the ground currently described as heavy, waterlogged in places.

And with more rain predicted throughout the day, clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell is “not optimistic” about the prospect of racing.
