Sparkling treble for Robinson at Newmarket
Philip Robinson notched a quickfire hat-trick at Newmarket today.
He began the day with victory on Clive Cox’s 14-1 shot Dancing Rose in the opening bluesqcasino.com Handicap and then took the Blue Square EBF Conditions Stakes on St Andrews (9-2) for Michael Jarvis.
He brought up the 308-1 treble on the Jeremy Noseda-trained 11-4 favourite New Art in the third race on the card, the Blue Square Speed Dial 64555 Nursery.
There was a sting in the tail for Pat Cosgrave, rider of the runner-up Orpsie Boy as he picked up a two-day suspension (August 10 and 11) for careless riding.
Steve Drowne was also in good form, completing a 12-1 double on Ed Dunlop’s Cross Channel, the even-money favourite in the Blue Square 0800 587 0200 EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, and on Panzer (11-2) for Roger Charlton in the Blue Square Handicap.
