New Morning, winner of the Brigadier Gerard Stakes, leads a strong British entry for the Audi Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.

Michael Jarvis’ filly was a surprise winner at Sandown, where she beat last year’s Derby winner North Light among others on her seasonal debut.

New Morning, who is a full-sister to Islington, is one of five British-trained entries in the 10-furlong Group One race.

John Gosden’s Playful Act would be an interesting contender if she lines up.

The daughter of Sadler’s Wells has not been seen since winning the Fillies’ Mile last September as she was slow to come to hand in the spring and missed her intended Classic engagements.

Red Bloom and Summitville could reoppose after finishing first and second in the Pipalong Stakes at Pontefract last time, while Songerie, a Group Three winner in France last year, could represent Sir Mark Prescott.

The home entry is headed by Jim Bolger’s Alexander Goldrun, winner of last year’s Hong Kong Cup, and Irish 1000 Guineas winner Saoire.
