The Paris Games heptathlon, exactly two years ago last week, was the last occasion O’Connor went to a championship and came away empty handed.

Kate O’Connor enters the Alexander Arena on Thursday morning not solely to begin her bid for a first European heptathlon medal but to crown and further cement two years of top-shelf consistency, ceaseless medal collecting, and no amount of clutch jumps, throws, and runs.
