Excusez Moi gets green light for Newbury run
Excusez Moi has been given the go-ahead to tackle Saturday’s Lane’s End Greenham Stakes at Newbury.
Clive Brittain wanted to see how the Fusaichi Pegasus colt handled a spin in Newmarket this morning before committing him to the weekend’s Group Three Classic trial.
The trainer was pleased with what he saw so the recent impressive Yarmouth winner will take his chance at Newbury.
“The horse is in good form. The work was just to make sure the horse was completely relaxed, which he was, and we are very happy with his condition,” Brittain told At The Races.
“It wasn’t a matter of needing to see him work well, I needed to see the horse’s mental approach. He had his race at Yarmouth and came back completely relaxed, which was the whole idea of going there.
“I took him to Dubai and he was very highly strung and a little bit overkeen. It was matter of taking him out and giving him a little bit of experience and it seems to have paid off.”
