Oxx happy with Hazarista ahead of Oaks bid

Hazarista is reported to be in “very good form” as she bids to take tomorrow’s Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks back to Ireland.

John Oxx’s charge was a close third behind Ouija Board and Punctilious in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh last time and will try to reverse form with those two fillies at York.

A winner of a Group Three at Cork in May, the daughter of Barathea will be the mount of Mick Kinane.

Oxx said: “She’s in very good form. So far she has shown her best form on fast ground so we are not sure if she will handle the ground but being a granddaughter of Sadler’s Wells and Darshaan, you would have to think she could.

“Her preparations have gone well and hopefully she can improve for that last race but Ouija Board probably had a bit in hand there.

“We are just hopeful that she will run well and step up on that Curragh run.”
