Fork Lightning strikes at Cheltenham

Fork Lightning, trained by Alan King and ridden by Robert Thornton, won the William Hill National Hunt Handicap Chase at Cheltenham this afternoon.

Shardam was second, losing out despite a brave effort in the straight.

Royal Auclair at 7-1 was third.

Fork Lightning was the third Irish winner of the day after Brave Inca and Hardy Eustace were earlier winners.
