Irish apprentice Helen Keohane is on her way to recovery after being discharged from St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin following a fall at Leopardstown on Monday in which she suffered a head injury.

The 5lb claimer was knocked unconscious after being unshipped by Mikes Baby on the way to the start for the Hawthorn Handicap.

However, she has been stood down for three months by Irish Turf Club medical officer Walter Halley.

It is understood she will be forced to miss a proposed work-riding experience trip to America over the winter.

There is no change in the condition of 22-year-old Irish apprentice Sean Cleary, who is still critically ill in intensive care in the neuro-surgical unit at Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital after a fall at Galway on Sunday.
