Vintage Tipple provided her octogenarian trainer Paddy Mullins with a 12-1 victory in the Darley Irish Oaks at the Curragh today.

Frankie Dettori brought the filly with a storming late run down the straight to deny the Aidan O’Brien pacemaker L’Ancresse (33-1) by a length, with Vodafone Oaks winner Casual Look (7-1) a further half-length back in third.

Disappointment of the race was the 11-8 favourite Yesterday who, after being settled towards the rear for most of the mile and a half, failed to make up sufficient ground and could only manage fourth under Michael Kinane.
