Kin waiting for Irish go-ahead
It is D-Day for Vodafone Epsom Derby hero Kris Kin as he needs to be supplemented if he is to run in the Irish equivalent next Sunday.
It looks increasingly likely that he will take his chance.
Bruce Raymond, spokesman for Kris Kin’s owner Saeed Suhail, said: “We will have to see what Sir Michael (Stoute) says tomorrow, but it seems likely the horse will run.
“I would be surprised if he doesn’t. You would expect him to improve. He has not had a lot of racing and he has beaten them all apart from the French horse (Dalakhani).”
Champion jockey Kieren Fallon will be able to team up with Kris Kin again, even though he picked up a one-day suspension at Royal Ascot that would have ruled him out of the Irish Classic on June 29.
Fallon was told by the Jockey Club that it would look favourably on any request to have the day deferred, and he said: “Kris Kin is in good form and he looks a picture.
“It looks one of the best Irish Derbys, and although Alamshar and Dalakhani will improve, so will Kris Kin and I am looking forward to riding him if he does get the go-ahead.”
