Danuta gives Godolphin another UAE Oaks
Danuta gave Godolphin their third successive win in the UAE Oaks with an easy win under Frankie Dettori in the Melbourne Racing Club-sponsored race at Nad Al Sheba on Thursday night.
The three-year-old Sunday Silence filly made most of the running in the nine-furlongs event on dirt and powered clear in the straight to win by nearly five lengths from Desert Glow.
The other two Godolphin runners, Ashraaf, the mount of Kerrin McEvoy, and Joharra, ridden by Jamie Spencer, were third and fourth.
“We are really pleased that Danuta put up such a nice performance. No decision about whether she goes to the Kentucky Oaks has been made yet,” Racing manager Simon Crisford told www.godolphin.com
Godolphin have now won all three runnings of the UAE Oaks following Imperial Gesture (2002) and Laoub (2001).
