Aintree falls victim to high winds

Racing at Aintree today has been abandoned due to high winds.

Racing at Aintree today has been abandoned due to high winds.

Clerk of the Course Andrew Tulloch said: "The weather bureau were predicting winds of 50-55 mph when our meeting was due to start but they have upgraded that now to 70 mph and it was getting too hairy.

"So we have abandoned on safety grounds."
