Fight Your Corner on recovery trail

Fight Your Corner has taken another important step in his rehabilitation and remains on course for a return to action next year.

The colt who finished fifth in last month's Vodafone Derby has done exercise on a horsewalker for the first time since undergoing surgery on a career-threatening leg injury.

And hopes are high that the three year-old, who was bought privately by the Maktoum family after his win in the Chester Vase in May, will be able to race under the Godolphin banner in 2003.

Trainer Mark Johnston said: "He went to Newmarket and he is under Darley Stud care now but Jan Garner told me yesterday that he has done his walker exercise.

"It has taken a huge amount out of him and she said he doesn't look well at the moment but his surgery has gone how everybody had hoped and I think they are still thinking he will be back next year.

"But I don't think he will be back with me - I think he has gone to Godolphin."
