Jockeys escape serious pile-up injury
A trio of jockeys including former champion Kevin Darley escaped serious injury following a horrific pile-up at Hamilton yesterday.
The incident happened at around halfway in the six furlongs Clydesdale Bank Asset Finance Classified Stakes when the Tony Hamilton-ridden Trudie seemed to duck to the right bringing down Touch Of Fairy, ridden by Tyrone Williams, and Darley’s mount Distinctive Dream.
Distinctive Dream was forced off the track crashing through the plastic running rail.
All three horses survived the nasty incident and were taken back to the racecourse stables while the jockeys reported they suffered nothing worse than minor scrapes and bruises.
The race was won by the Milton Bradley-trained Full Spate.
