Overseas raider Maranilla proved a good winner of the Group Three Fruhjahrspreis der Bankhauses Metzler-Stadrat Albert Von Metzler Rennen at Frankfurt.

The Eoghan O’Neill-trained three-year-old, who was partnered by John Egan, led early in the straight and was never to be headed.

Whispered Secret ran on well to reduce the deficit to a length and a half, but the winner was always calling the shots.

Maranilla, who was also successful in stakes company as a juvenile in Toulouse last December, was returned at 15-2 on the German Tote.
