Horse racing: Cheltenham abandon watering plans
Any chance of Cheltenham watering the course ahead of the three-day National Hunt Festival has been abandoned.
A course spokesman said yesterday: ‘‘We have a forecast of showers, sun and then rain for Monday so the option of watering the course has been ruled out.
‘‘The official ground is now good to soft and soft in places on the new course while the old course is good to soft but good in places.’’
