Master Speaker can go one better
Aidan O’Brien’s colt made a promising start at the Curragh last month, when grabbed late and beaten a head by fellow newcomer, Jim Bolger’s Caesaria.
The ground was heavy on that occasion and it was no surprise the selection, as a son of Danehill Dancer, handled it.
The surface now will be a lot different, but O’Brien has to be confident that will not present a problem, because there are lots of alternatives on grass.
David Wachman has made a good start to the campaign and his Love And Cherish is the choice in a tricky little four-runner bookings@dundalkstadium.com Handicap.
This daughter of Excellent Art looked very much at home on the track when taking a maiden here in November.
Jim Bolger’s start to the season has been nothing short of spectacular and his Iveta gets the vote in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden.
She did disappoint at Dundalk in early November, finishing a poor sixth to Michael Halford’s Rummaging, but previously ran Dermot Weld’s Fastidious to a length and three parts at Gowran Park.
A repeat of that Gowran effort would certainly suffice, in what looks an especially weak contest.
Bolger’s Confident Cub, fourth behind Atlas Peak at Dundalk in January, might be good enough in the Fundraising Made Easy At Dundalk Handicap.
