The Reserve Derby Trial Stake resulted in a good win for Loose Chippings, who eliminated the overnight favourite, Fleetwood Wex, in the quarter-finals. It was plain sailing afterwards and he led all the way in the decider to beat Carrowkeal Stan by two lengths.
