Reizovic can make winning start over hurdles
John Kiely’s string is already in good shape and Reizovic, a winner of two bumpers, is expected to triumph in his first outing since being bought by J P McManus.
A narrow winner on his debut at Punchestown in February, the Catcher In The Rye gelding then flopped behind Mount Benbulben — in bad ground — at Limerick but bounced back to land a winners’ event at Fairyhouse in April, beating Gold Ability in good style.
Reizovic should make his mark over hurdles and is preferred today to the Noel Meade trained Dylan Ross, another dual bumper winner whose only hurdle outing ended in a last flight fall (when in the lead) at Down Royal back in December.
Meade and Paul Carberry might enjoy better luck with Texas Jack, successful on his debut in a Punchestown Festival bumper last May, when he makes his hurdling bow in the Visit www.fairyhouse.ie Maiden Hurdle.
Plenty of action tomorrow, with the Ladbrokes Munster National meeting at Limerick and the Curragh’s final fixture of the season, where admission is free for a card featuring the Hacketts Bookmakers Irish Cesarewitch.
The Limerick showpiece looks wide open with the Mick Winters trained mare For Bill, a staying second to Finger Onthe Pulse at Listowel last month, set to shoulder top weight, off a mark of 140.
Donie Sheahan’s mare has been a tremendous money-spinner, but faces a tough task in her first handicap and might prefer more testing conditions.
Preference is for Charles Byrnes’ Bideford Legend, third to the smart Tavern Times in a novice hurdle at Galway before chasing home Alfa Beat in the Guinness Kerry National, while Ruby Walsh’s mount Uncle Junior, seventh in the Listowel feature, might be better suited by the Limerick track and should go close.
Also at Limerick, Sailors Warn, second to Unaccompanied in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown before finishing sixth in the Triumph at Cheltenham, should not be opposed in the opening Isobel Boutique Adare Hurdle while Loosen My Load, impressive at Navan recently, should prove too strong for the Evan Williams trained West With The Wind in the PricewaterhouseCoopers Chase.
At the Curragh, the improving Homecoming Queen, narrowly denied by Coral Wave in a recent Group 3 on the track, sets a decent standard in the Lanwades & Staffordstown Stud Stakes.
The John Oxx trained filly Dimona, second to Zaralabad in Killarney’s Kingdom Gold Cup, might prove best in the Hacketts Bookmakers Irish Cesarewitch.
