O’Brien aims high with Hounds
The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt was touched off by a nose to Khawlah in the 10-furlong Group Two contest on Saturday to earn the right to go for even bigger prizes.
Cape Blanco, who was only beaten a length when fourth in the Dubai World Cup on the same Meydan card, could next go for the Singapore Airlines International Cup in May. “Cape Blanco would have a Singapore option. Master Of Hounds is in the English 2000 Guineas and would have a Kentucky Derby option,” O‘Brien told At The Races.
“We will see how they are and the next couple of weeks will tell us a lot.
“The Kentucky Derby is a great race.
“He handled the surface well out in Dubai and he‘s a horse that has tactical speed and we were delighted with his run.
“I‘m sure the race will be considered and will be spoken about.”
