Roderic O’Connor in Criterium reckoning

DUBAI Dewhurst runner-up Roderic O’Connor could represent Aidan O’Brien in the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud on Sunday.

The Galileo colt is one of three entries for the Ballydoyle trainer, the others being the once-raced Recital and Navan maiden winner Exodus.

O’Brien said: “He seems fine since Newmarket. You’re never sure but I don’t think the mile will bother him. He is the most possible of ours to run. Recital is a possible for Leopardstown on Sunday (Eyrefield Stakes) but we haven’t decided things yet.”

Roderic O’Connor belied odds of 25-1 to chase home would-be superstar Frankel in the Dewhurst and is a best-priced 14-1 chance for the Investec Derby at Epsom in June.

A total of 12 entries for the Group One event also feature Rerouted for Barry Hills, Clive Brittain’s Abjer and the Hughie Morrison-trained Pisco Sour.
