’Boura gets nod
He landed a little touch, 12-1 to 7’s, in a bumper at Roscommon and then made a promising debut over jumps at Clonmel.
The selection was beaten three and a half lengths and half a length into third behind Aughwilliam Lady and Millrock Lady.
Because bumper winners are unpenalised here, unlike Clonmel, Nodouraboura now meets Millrock Lady on 8lbs better terms and very much looks the one to beat.
The corkracecourse.ie Hurdle is particularly tricky, with the hopeful vote going to Tony Martin’s Green Mile.
Keith Donoghue takes a useful 7lbs off and Green Mile arrives on the back of finishing second on the flat behind Spinning Wings at Limerick.
Willie Mullins’ De Senectute is certainly the interesting one in the Mallow Print Handicap Hurdle.
She showed nothing for a couple of trainers, before making a winning debut for Mullins, by nine lengths on the flat at Ballinrobe, and has to be the choice.
Jim Bolger can complete a double at Gowran Park with Purple Land and Scandal Sheet. Purple Land is clearly ordinary, but his third behind Brazilian Beauty and Palm Ridge at Limerick seems easily good enough to take a moderate Bennettsbridge Maiden.
Scandal Sheet ran a cracker when second to Mark Johnston’s Sea Lord at the Curragh and has obvious prospects, off a mark just 2lbs higher, in the Kilkenny Handicap.
Councilofconstance, a close third to Blaze Brightly and Lake Worth at Listowel, may be the answer to the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden.
