Ground key to Lady’s French raid
The Curragh trainer would like to see enough cut in the ground for the filly, who found conditions too quick when only 14th to Bethrah in the Irish 1000 Guineas.
She had earned her place in the Classic line-up by winning the Leopardstown 1000 Guineas Trial on her seasonal debut.
“We’re still thinking about it. She did a piece of work this morning. It went really well and I’m delighted with her,” said Deegan.
“We’re just want to make sure it’s going to be soft enough. It’s good to soft there at the moment, they expect it be good ground by Sunday and they are said to be thinking about watering. We probably won’t decide until Thursday evening.
“She came out of the Guineas very well, but she didn’t let herself down on the ground and was just going up and down on the spot.
“If it hadn’t have been the Guineas we wouldn’t have run her. She’s a good filly, but needs it soft.”
