Arabella and Nina a nice combination

ARABELLA BOY, Nina Carberry on board, is eye-catching and is the nap choice in the Supporters’ Club Maiden Hurdle at Wexford this afternoon.

Arabella and Nina a nice combination

The former winning pointer has been making steady progress on the track and there is every reason to believe he is capable of going close now.

Enda Bolger’s charge is down in class and up in trip, two furlongs, and both are obvious positives. He was in decent company on his latest appearance, at Limerick.

Arabella Boy finished a creditable fourth behind Jumbo Rio, jumping for fun and only weakening on the approach to the final flight.

Give It Time gets the nod to make a winning debut over fences in the Newbay Country House Beginners Chase. She is a top-class mare, who made a fine return when runner-up behind Voler La Vedette in a Listed hurdle at Punchestown nine days ago.

Siegemaster, whose jumping has often left plenty to be desired, gets a hopeful vote in the Casey Enterprise Chase. He is a smart horse, when on song, and has his sights considerably lowered, considering Dessie Hughes’ inmate went to Cheltenham and Aintree at the back-end of last season.

Tomorrow at Galway will be all about Dunguib and his initial pop over jumps in the CCTV Venue Control Maiden Hurdle. A brilliant bumper horse, he produced one of the great displays of last season when scoring in a canter at Cheltenham.

This is a gentle introduction and it will be a major shock should Philip Fenton’s star not get away to the ideal start.

Adrian Maguire’s rapidly improving Let Yourself Go has to get the nap in the Barna Waste Ballybrit Novice Chase. He is on a four-timer and one of those victories came in testing conditions on this track, where the selection showed the punishing Ballybrit hill held no fears for him.

At Wexford tomorrow, For The Staff is difficult enough to oppose in the INH Stallion Owners’ EBF Novice Hurdle. He is on the upgrade and could hardly have done the job any better when toying with subsequent winner, Just Moscow, at Cork.

Caim Hill, a smart hurdler, is fancied to round off a good weekend for Philip Fenton by taking the Wexford Block Ltd Beginners Chase.
