Stack walking on air ahead of Million Sprint
Tommy Stackâs daughter of Danehill Dancer ran out an impressive winner of the Anglesey Stakes over the same course and distance on her penultimate start but had to settle for third in the Phoenix Stakes.
The trainerâs son and assistant Fozzy feels the subsequent break has freshened her up nicely and is keeping his fingers crossed she can pick up some of the massive prize-money on offer at the weekend.
âThe Phoenix was her third race in a month and all three had been in testing ground, so she might have been just slightly over the top,â said Stack.
âWeâve given her a break and decided to come straight here.
âShe wouldnât want the ground rock hard but there should be a nice ease in it at the Curragh, so I donât think the ground will be a problem.
âHer form is very solid as sheâs won a maiden, a Group Three and been placed in a Group One, so her form is there for everybody to see.
âShe seems in good form and weâre very happy with her.
Stack is set to fire two more bullets at the six furlong contest with Gibraltar Blue and Capulet Monteque set to take their chance as well, and he is particularly keen on the chance of the former.
âWe think Gibraltar Blue is quite a smart filly and she did it quite well in Fairyhouse,â Stack told At The Races.
âShe did it the hard way as she got shuffled back early on but she got there and won with her ears pricked, so sheâll go there with every chance as well.
âHer and Walk On Bye have never worked together but there wouldnât be five lengths between them anyway.
âWayne (Lordan) will have the choice of the two of them and he will probably make his mind up after heâs seen the draw as that is going to be very important.
âIâd imagine heâll side with Walk On Bye if she gets a good draw.
âCapulet Monteque has been second in two maidens and ran quite well in the Anglesey behind Walk On Bye.
âThere is prize-money back to sixth so if she ran into a bit money that would be great.â
