Baglioni’s experience to prove decisive
His Baglioni gets the nap in the Blanchardstown Race for juveniles over seven furlongs. He faces two Ballydoyle newcomers, but the selection’s relative experience entitles him to the vote.
Baglioni made a promising start when runner-up behind Royal Infidelity at Dundalk and returned to that track for his second outing.
He made no mistake, forging through late to beat Stand And Fight by half a length, with Royal Infidelity a further three lengths away in third.
It was a gutsy display, because the winner was struck by Declan McDonogh’s whip, he was on Stand And Fight, inside the furlong pole.
Even though Stand And Fight has won in the meantime, the form is probably ordinary, but Baglioni is a tough sort, likely to relish stepping up another two furlongs in trip.
Lyons’ once-raced Bada Bling is the one to beat in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Median Auction Fillies Maiden.
She has been given plenty of time to mature, having been rested since finishing third on her debut at Dundalk back in April.
Bada Bling was slowly away then and the contest was over by the time she hit top gear behind Wrong Answer and stable companion, Bank On Black. Another two furlongs now is hardly a minus for her.
Andrew McNamara’s Drombeg Dawn should go close in the Bobbyjo Bistro Handicap. Successful at Limerick, she followed with a neck second to Sharisse at Naas last week. Drombeg Dawn now races off mark just 2lbs higher, compared to Naas.
