Gent looks Dream bet
Jessica Harrington’s charge looked a very unlucky loser at Galway last time and, on this flatter track, is fancied to redress the balance.
He shot away after the final fence then, looking sure to score. But Dreamy Gent went a bit wide off the home turn and was eventually collared and beaten a neck by Artiste Bay.
A further neck behind in third was Holly Tree, who has since produced two excellent displays at Listowel.
The bottom line, however, is that Dreamy Gent now meets his rival on 4lbs better terms compared to Galway.
Noel Meade’s horses are in full flow and Gay Sloane can do the business for him in the Boyle Novice Hurdle.
Like Dreamy Gent, the four-year-old looked rather unlucky on his latest appearance, at Bellewstown. Following a smooth success at the Galway festival, Gay Sloane went off a warm favourite.
A blunder at the final flight cost him the race, though, and he was beaten a short head by Quartino.
The form is working out nicely with Quartino taking a competitive handicap at Listowel and fifth placed Montero scored at Navan on Saturday.
Jim Bolger’s inmates have held their form superbly throughout the campaign and his Sioduil can take the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden.
She was beaten about a length into fourth behind Brazilian Spirit at the Curragh and the sixth, Aspectoflove, won at Dundalk on Friday night.
