Stick with Sesenta
Willie Mulllins’ filly has a bit to do at the weights, but seems to have a progressive enough profile to overcome such a technicality.
The daughter of King’s Theatre is lightly raced, producing a career-best effort at Galway last month.
She finished a head second behind John Oxx’s Via Mantua, with the admittedly moderate Etu only a head further away in third.
The proximity of Etu is an obvious worry, but the credit side is that Via Mantua went on to land a competitive handicap at Gowran Park next time.
Oxx now relies on Lilanda, who is currently rated 9lbs better than Sesenta. She was, however, a bit disappointing at Gowran last week, failing to justify favouritism when fourth to My Dolly Madison.
Boleybawn Quikstar looks the right one in the www.tramore-racecourse.com Maiden Hurdle, particularly as Ruby Walsh renews acquaintances with Philip Rothwell’s charge.
He was in the plate when Boleybawn Quikstar made his racecourse debut at Sligo eight days ago. The selection ran a nice sort of race to finish fourth behind the useful Rinroe, giving the impression there was plenty to come.
The surface was very testing on that occasion, but the five-year-old did win a point-to-point on fast ground.
Monahahullan Prince, who has been a good servant on the flat to the Ger Keane yard, can enjoy a first success over flights in the Graun Hill Handicap Hurdle.
He ran a cracker at Sligo last week, on heavy ground which was completely against him, to be beaten a head into second by De La Rue.
