Hard Rock looks a solid proposition
Michael Grassick’s seven-year-old is tough and resolute and fancied to give weight and a beating to six rivals.
He only ran twice for the whole of last season, but has been in good shape of late and this will be a sixth outing of the current campaign.
His latest effort was a rock-solid performance. At the Curragh ten days ago, Hard Rock City was beaten three parts of a length into second by Redstone Dancer.
That was a Group 3 against a rival who was at the top of her game, completing a hat-trick of successes.
There are several interesting newcomers in the Coolmore Ivan Denisovich Maiden, but the relatively experienced Alhabeeb is the one to beat.
He is progressive, producing easily his best effort to date at the Curragh last time. The selection stayed on well to fill third behind New Approach and Lucifer Sam. That was a decent effort, considering New Approach is regarded as a National Stakes horse by Jim Bolger and Lucifer Sam looks a winner in waiting!
No less than 20 are set to face the starter in the six furlongs Naas Maiden, but it does appear a particularly moderate contest.
Perhaps Social Season, grabbed late over seven by Impossible Dream at Gowran Park, will prove up to the task.
Soap Wars, a promising fourth behind the smart Myboycharlie at the Curragh last month, gets the nod in the Yeomanstown and Morristown Lattin Studs EBF Maiden.
