KATCHARTO Lady can continue Joanna Morgan’s tremendous recent run of success by taking the First Choice Betting Handicap at Roscommon this evening.

Lady can continue Morgan’s tremendous recent run

She runs here off a paltry 42, having shown significant improvement of late over flights. The daughter of Victory Note is also in foal and that is clearly helping her cause.

Katcharto Lady won a handicap hurdle by a length and three parts at Clonmel last month and was raised 6lbs for that.

She made light of it at Punchestown a week later, in what was a very competitive 25-runner affair.

The seven-year-old skipped ahead approaching the final flight and stayed on strongly to score by a length and a quarter from Dr Swanini.

Sweet Wake would hardly be regarded as one’s favourite horse, but there is no denying his prospects in the Knockcroghery Hurdle.

He went off favourite for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham last year, but time has revealed him to be well below that standard.

Sweet Wake’s last outing was at the Punchestown Festival in April, when finishing seventh of eight behind Silent Oscar in the Grade 1 ACC Bank Champion Hurdle.

He has a minimum of 15lbs in hand off all of his rivals now and can show his appreciation of a major drop in class.

Mozamjer, who caught the eye when fifth behind stable companion Lyceum at Punchestown, gets the nod to land a woeful looking Ladies Day At Roscommon July 9th Maiden Hurdle.
