Easy task for Yeats
This will be the six-year-old’s final outing before he attempts to repeat last year’s success in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot next month.
The Sadler’s Wells colt is a very high class stayer, who showed on his reappearance at Navan that he continues in fine shape. Yeats cruised home five lengths to the good on that occasion and anything less than a clear-cut win now will be a major surprise.
Aidan O’Brien and Seamus Heffernan team up with Yeats and they can also combine to land the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden with Greek Mythology.
The son of Mr Greeley made a satisfactory start when third to well-regarded Coasting at Newbury and stepping up another furlong now looks in his favour.
Dermot Weld’s once-raced Perfect Casting is the nap choice in the Irishtown Maiden. A strong order in the market on his debut at Naas, he went under by half a length to Alexander Of Hales.
It was ten lengths back to third and the form was put in perspective when Alexander Of Hales took the Group 3 Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
Akua’ba, down in class, having taken sixth to Four Sins in a Group 3 at Naas last time, is the worry.
Willie Mullins’ Magnum Force is the interesting horse in the 18-runner Rochestown Handicap. He obtained his mark following three quick runs in testing condition at the back-end of last season.
Gelded over the winter, Magnum Force returned on this track in April to score by four and a half lengths.
Raised a whopping 18lbs, he could still be some way ahead of the handicapper and the booking of Michael Kinane is hardly a minus.
