Adajal poised to get off the mark

He was beaten less than three lengths into fourth place behind Septimus and that's a contest which has been working out really well.

Septimus went on to take the Group Two Beresford Stakes at the Curragh and was third in the Group One Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.

Add in the fact that Arabian Prince (second), Chiado (third) and Wilman (fifth) all scored subsequently and that Leopardstown race has a solid look about it.

Royal Ranger is fancied to shrug off top weight in the Glenview and Rathbarry Studs Hunters Chase. Successful twice in the point-to-point fields, the seven-year-old gave the impression he may well have a bright future when beating Phelans Fancy by five lengths at Tramore last month.

The Stars Of Tomorrow Beginners Chase is an interesting enough contest, with Oscar's Advance and Satoha appearing to have an edge on the rest.

The vote falls on Oscar's Advance, who hasn't quite lived up to earlier promise over flights. This, however, was always going to be his game and, hopefully, the market will speak in favour of Christy Roche's gelding.

Satoha, returning from a long break when third to Southern Vic at Navan, has to be respected and his travels in the market will also be worth noting.
