Greene dislocates shoulder
The injury occurred when his mount Lost In Normandy blundered at the fifth fence in the Bristol Street Renault Handicap Chase. The reins broke, and Greene had to pull the horse up before the next obstacle.
Greene, who was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment, said: “I dislocated my shoulder when the horse made a mistake at the fence in front of the stands.
“After the mistake I was hanging round his neck. With what happened I couldn’t grab hold of the reins, and obviously the shoulder had just gone.
“It was dislocated, so I’ll be out for four or five weeks.
“I’ll give it a couple of days and then go and see (physiotherapist) Rabbit Slattery fairly soon, that’s all I can do.
“They knocked me out to put it back in. It’s very painful.
“It’s annoying because I normally do OK at this time of year, but it could be worse.”
Elsewhere, Richard Quinn has given up his two rides at Bath yesterday after aggravating an old injury, but he will be back in action at Salisbury tomorrow.
His agent Terry Norman said: “Richard has been signed off today because of the injury he got last week at Windsor, but he will be back on Thursday to ride Norse Dancer at Salisbury.
